pleasantthoughts Pleasant thoughts

Hello little fetus,
Sometimes I wonder what you’re experiencing in my womb. Can you see cool colors? When you move around, do you feel anything memorable? Do you see patterns in the sky? Are you having fun dreaming about beautiful shapes? Yes, your mommy is a total hippie.

I try so very hard to think of nice, pleasant thoughts and even surround myself with things that may enhance your baby-growing experience and give you a colorful trippy feeling. Maybe one of these day you can tell me about it and describe what you felt!

My values

myvalues My values

Hello little baby,
I love you dearly and thought I’d share something you may one day find valuable. This morning I felt inclined to write a few lists that define my values that I use throughout life. As you grow older, you may find these useful. Maybe you’ll even write your own values on day! These are in order from top to bottom in each list.

The beauty of fall

thebeautyoffall The beauty of fall

My sweet sleeping child,

It just occurred to me that you’ll arrive in the summertime, which means you’ll be here just in time to experience the beauty of the Bloomington fall. The poetic back roads are covered with trees, which I feel speak to us, in coats of many orange and red colors. It’s one of the most magnificent sights I’ve ever seen in the fall… the gentle melting of leaves onto the road. Sometimes a leaf will fall on the windshield of the SUV and spring a little color to the glass.

I love to dance with you…

Posted under Blog by admin on Tuesday 20 January 2009 at 7:06 pm

ilovetodance I love to dance with you...

Hello little baby,
Today I free-danced in the living room listening to Celine Dion and even sang to daddy. Normally I’m not a huge fan of hers, but it got me moving around and swinging my arms and dancing on my tiptoes! Dancing is very fun and helps bring back energy when you need it. Daddy and I love to dance together and have fun around the house. Some day soon, you’ll see us dancing and having a good time, spinning you in circles with us!

We love to watch dance competitions on tv like So You Think You Can Dance, Superstars of Dance, and Dancing with the Stars. Are you a fan of dancing? Lots of pregnancy websites suggest that as time goes on, you’ll be moving around in my belly as if you’re dancing… so it got me thinking about that. Can you hear the music we play?

The soft falling of tree leaves

thesoftfalling The soft falling of tree leaves

Sweet love of mine,

There are days I imagine what color eyes you’ll have… brown like your daddy’s or hazel like mine. What color hair you’ll have, what color skin will embrace your spirit, how contagious your laugh will be as we sing songs together when we do long road trips. Will you enjoy the quiet moments of listening to the rain falling on the roof… the soft falling of tree leaves outside the window… the quiet hum of the earth when we close our eyes and meditate. I’ll teach you meditation if you want to learn it. I’ll share with you everything you’d like to know, even if you think I’m not interested. If you want to build a train, I’ll take classes with you. If you want to do something without me, I’ll consider possibly setting it up. My goal is for you to have the happiest life you could possible have full of freedom, creativity, and unbridled desire to do what fulfills you completely.

You are my sunshine

mysunshine You are my sunshine

Hello beautiful baby,
I didn’t know that being pregnant would make me so emotional. I sang this song to you and rubbed my belly today… and I ended up crying. I am so SO thankful to be given the opportunity to be a mommy. This is so much more than I ever could have prayed. I tried for SO long to have a baby… and now you’re growing so healthy. I love you so much. I love you more than any words could ever be put into a song. There simply are no words that can describe my love for you. There is no language that can contain how I feel for you. There simply are no more words.

Different cultures

differentcultures Different cultures

Hello lovely,

Daddy and I can’t wait to teach you all about different cultures throughout the world. Mommy likes to travel a lot and has been to many places! Did you know that Daddy especially likes Japanese culture? He’s a big fan of Japanese art and even J-pop music! We both have a fascination with Asia (your stepsister’s name is Asia, isn’t that cool?) and hope to take you there one day to explore it with us! If we had the money, we’d go to Tokyo first because it seems so magical, urban, and awesome!

Second ultrasound!

Posted under Blog by admin on Tuesday 13 January 2009 at 8:03 pm

Hello little peanut,
We had another ultrasound today and the technician put some green gel on my belly and rubbed a monitor over it and you instantly showed up on the screen! It was surreal that she could just put something on my abdomen and then - wah-lah - there’s a human growing inside me! Daddy and I could hear your heart beating at 170 beats per minute which is high, but still very normal for someone at your age. The doctors said so far this is a very good sign. So far, no scares. Everything has been absolutely perfect. I am so grateful to the Divine Source for allowing me this wonderful blessing. I love you with my whole heart, little one. I’ll keep following your progress.

You gotta admit, you’re still super tiny. But I can see you, there you are! Peek-a-boo!

9 weeks ultrasound

Mommy
