Hello my little earthling,

I would assume most pregnant moms-to-be are concentrating on their bellies (or at least the ones I’ve seen in the online communities I’ve joined), but I can’t help but want to focus MORE on your future. I mean, let’s talk coolness. The thing is there are soooo many things your daddy and I want to introduce you to (which is partly why we started this blog) and we don’t see the point of waiting till you’re a few years old when we can start now!

Baby likes rock

My sweet brilliant baby,

Just some proof that I’m a cool mom. I’m told your ears are beginning to hear outside sounds, so instead of bombarding you with boring lullabies that you’ll be embarrassed by in your twenties… I’m starting you off with some classic rock and roll.

I’ve been listening to music by Guns n Roses, The Doors, Pink Floyd, and The Grateful Dead (in fact, right now I’m listening to Grateful Dead’s, “Let it Grow”). You’ve got my foot tapping, my sweet. That’s ALL YOU!

Hello little one,
There are so many things that remind me of you. Did you know that you’ve got me hiccupping all the time? It’s true! Sometimes your dad and I will be traveling down the road and we’ll be at a traffic light and your dad will ask me, “So did you like the movie?” and the first thing that comes out of my mouth before I get a chance to speak will be a hiccup! It’s kind of like you’re dying to get out and talk!

It happens all the time too which is randomly fascinating and unpredictable! Your fingertips are forming this week which is pretty cool. I swear I love you so much! I’ve waited for you for so long and I’m sooo happy to be carrying you inside me. Sometimes I sing to you, especially the song, “Dream a Little Dream of Me” by Mamma Cass from the Mamas and the Papas. You seem to like it because my body gets real calm and relaxed when I start to sing it. Maybe you’re sleeping or dreaming right now… how fabulous!

Speaking of dreams… are you dreaming about space? Mommy and daddy are both space fans! I’ve had lots of dreams about other galaxies and stuff during this whole pregnancy so far! Maybe you’re an astronaut in the making, who knows?!

My little angel

Hello my wee one,

I’ve been learning more and more piano… you seem to enjoy the lessons too! It seems like the ONLY time during the day I’m not feeling woozy. Sometimes I wonder if you’ll act the same way I did when I was four years old. There are still memories in my head of having a piano at home and having this overwhelming feeling of wanting to play it… but didn’t really know how. I spent my whole life wanting to play the keys, wishing I knew the notes, the chords… beautiful musical melodies to be created from nowhere… and here I am, carrying you from within, going back to the basics of when *I* was a child. I could teach you flute ever want to play that! It’s pretty fun.

I love you…

Posted under Blog by admin on Tuesday 10 February 2009 at 7:31 pm

iloveyou I love you...

I love knowing that one day you will see the world and want me and daddy there to show you the ropes. When I was a kid, your grandpa used to take me mountain climbing with my sister (your aunt), Tammy. We used to stand on top of the mountain tops and pose for photos, grinning, making funny faces, and having a good time. We’d climb big boulders, hang from trees, and go hiking as a family. Those were good times. My dad always told me, “You learn more from traveling and experiencing, than reading from a textbook.” I still believe that to this day. Most of the stuff I’ve learned, although I’ve got college, is from traveling from city to city, state to state, and country to country. The best wisdoms in life are often words spoken from complete strangers who offer their life learnings. One word of advice I’d like to give you is to constantly listen. Everyone has a voice and everyone wants to be heard. Throughout life, I’m sure you’ll watch me - which means I need to listen more myself! I promise to practice what I preach, so to speak. I’ll never tell or ask you to do something I haven’t done or am not willing to do myself. I love you and can’t wait to explore the wisdoms of the world with you!

Daddy and I got married

Posted under Blog by admin on Saturday 7 February 2009 at 7:43 pm

Hello little baby,
Today your daddy and I got married! It’s official… we’re a legal family unit. We got married for many reasons, the main reason being that we love each other very much. We also got married because we’d like to get the same rights as married couples, get on the same health insurance together, and be able to get all kinds of legal benefits. I figure that one day you might ask us if we got married just because of you and the answer, my love, is no. While you are a huge reason our love has gotten closer, we were engaged before you were ever conceived and we both planned to spend our lives together no matter what our circumstances. The love your father and I have with each other is very beautiful, honest, and loving… and it’s such a blessing that you experienced our wedding with us. We had an intimate pajama wedding with some close friends who we love very much.

Here are some photos from our home wedding:

What’s in a name

whatsinaname Whats in a name

Hello my little bundle of joy,

I promise not to be one of those insane moms that gives you a crappy name. You’re going to have a strong name that has high statistics for strong success in the business place… and at the same time, have names I feel you can embrace.

We’re thinking Julius Dior or Jade Annabelle….

Please help mommy

helpmommy Please help mommy

Dear beautiful heartbeat living in my belly,

Will you help mommy with something? I need you to please help mommy stop throwing up when she takes her pre-natal vitamins. We both need them right now. When you feel a prenatal vitamin coming your way, simply lie back, relax, and get nice and comfortable. Just pretend it’s gonna make you really dreamy and give you lots of pretty colors to look at. Thank you, sweetie. The last 4 days, I couldn’t keep them down. Apparently you like it when I drink Sprite (like your father) instead of water before bedtime, which seems to help.

Love
Mommy
