16 weeks today!

Sunday 1 March 2009

Hello little one,
This morning I woke up and felt my womb/uterus (still under my belly button), and today IT WAS HARD! Of all the times I’ve touched it, it’s never turned hard! But today it did! That means you’re GROWING BABY! By the way, those (2) Flintstones Vitamins really helped a LOT with the morning sickness. I still get sick, but not NEARLY as much. Way better than the regular prenatal vitamins, yet have the same stuff in it.

Wanna see how big you’re getting? Read on!

You’re 16 weeks old today! That’s FOUR MONTHS! Wow. In two and a half weeks, we’re scheduled for an ultrasound to determine your gender (and that’s about halfway through the whole pregnancy!) Right now you’re about the link of mascara and slightly bigger than an avocado. That’s about 4 or 5 inches and approx. 3 ounces! You’re growing!

I love touching my belly knowing you’re in there. It’s become subconscious at this point, even when shopping in public… I do the whole “pregnant walk” where I sort of touch myself in a way that lets everyone know I’m carrying. Can’t help it. I’ve waited NINE YEARS to be pregnant, so I’m wearing you with honor!!

By the way, yesterday I was lying back in the recliner and I started to hear rumblings coming from my belly. At first I thought it was normal hunger pains, but this was different. It was as though you were hiccuping, burping, farting, or well… something. I looked it up online and there’s a good chance you were hiccuping. It’s appropriate for how far along I am. WOW! Did I tell you I’ve hiccuped more in the last 4 months than I have in practically my whole life?! Your daddy thinks all I do is hiccup. Now I know the culprit *wink*

My dear sunshine, I love you so much. I hope you heard my words to you this morning when I glanced down at my belly and spoke to you. I’m convinced that pre-birth communication is one of the most overlooked joys of pregnancy. If you could hear my heart, my joy, my love for you… you’d know how very happy I am to be blessed with you.

Here’s what you look like today:
